Campostano Group was established in 1927 and started out as ship-agent and freight forwarder. Over a time span of four generations, the company has substantially extended the scope of its activities maintaining, up until today, the full shareholding within the family.
Nowadays, Campostano Group controls 20 companies involved in both operation and general services, taking care of all aspects of road transport and sea-borne trade.
In the wake of the traditional roles as ship-agent and freight forwarder, Campostano Group has moved on to set up as shipbroker and insurance broker. Besides, steps have also been taken to increase the presence in the containerized goods sector.
The moment legislation changes (1994) have made it possible for privates to operate in public ports, Campostano Group has heavily invested in dedicated terminals in Savona and in Genoa concentrating on particular commodities: steels, forest products, bulk materials.
Campostano Group headquarter is located in Savona, however branch offices manned by own personnel are active in Genoa, Taranto, Ravenna and Venezia. In addition, a large network of local correspondents guarantees full coverage of all Italian ports.
In addition to the Mantsinen MSK 120 crane, in operation since last spring, the Group has also acquired a new Sennebogen 821 M material handler for use in the Savona port.
